| [Runescape] Phoenix Distractions/Diversions Minigame GuideWed, 07 Jan 2009 20:25:11 -0800 by SetherexA guide to doing the daily Phoenix-Rebirth Minigame in Runescape. You can only do this once a day to gain experience in Firemaking, Slayer, Crafting, and Fletching. You also get 5 Phoenix Quills, used to make the lvl 72 Summoning familiar "Phoenix".------Alri ght well...First things first, you need to have completed "In Pyre Need". This is an extremely easy quest, you don't need any items, but there are some level 50 quest requirements. The Phoenix Nest is located South of Piscatoris, in the furthest Northwest reaches of RS. The quickest way to get there is to use the Fairy Ring combination AKQ.For the minigame:Reccomended Skills:- At least 70 Attack and Strength- Around 50 Prayer- Same Fletching, FM, Crafting, and Slayer levels as needed in quest.Inventory should include:- 1-click teleport (for emergencies)- "Pure Set" (Super Attack and Strength)- 2 Prayer potions or super restores- 1 Super energy potion (I used Terrorbird scrolls instead)- Dramen/Lunar Staff (If using the Fairy Rings)- MUST INCLUDE: TINDERBOX, NORMAL SECATEURS, and KNIFE.---- At the moment, Magic Secateurs don't work, so you'll need normal ones. Jagex will probably patch this.- Four or Five inventory spaces- Rest food (Lobster is fineFor your equipment:- My suggestion would be to bring the BEST defense armor you can. This way, you get protection from Range and Melee attacks while you pray Mage if a Mage is in the area. I used Bandos and Veracs for the Prayer boost and defense stats. Be sure to bring a ring of life if things get nasty! (Lower levels)General Guide:Go to Varrock/Edge and get to the Fairy Ring (use shortcut near GE). Go to ring AKQ, then run NW. Enter the cave. The rest is pretty straightforward. Go through each room and pick a branch from each tree. The next room is always to the north. The only two complications are:1. The lava guys will block passage through narrow tunnel areas. So, you'll be forced to kill them. The area is multicombat but you can run through all the guys except the blockers. It is possible in some cases to make the blocker attack you, then open the passage and run around him.2. If there is a mage in the area, praying Mage would be suggested. After collecting 5 branches, you'll be in the Phoenix's Chamber. The lvl 205 Phoenix WILL NOT SPAWN until you have build the pyre like in the quest. You must fletch the branches and use them on the pyre. For this reason, pot up before you build the pyre. The Phoenix hit consistent 22's on my Terrorbird during the fight, and uses magic. So logically, you should protect against Magic. After it dies, just light the pyre. After the cutscene, talk to the baby Phoenix. I also reccomend that you right-click "Escape" the entry doorway. There is a small chance you can get a Phoenix egg. If you kick it open, it'll be a mean phoenix pet. If you don't it'll be a cute phoenix pet.Pretty easy right?-------Note: This was my first attempt and I hadn't any clue on how to get through this, so I overestimated it. You don't really need that much food, nor a familiar. It's actually really easy. Also, the Phoenix is a boss, and bosses aren't supposed to attack your familiars. Even in multi. So Jagex will likely patch that too.¤¤¤ MUSIC ¤¤¤--------------And Embers Rise - Killswitch EngageTruth About Heaven - Armor for Sleep Related: runescape pheonix new minigame guide godsword ags bgs dfs whip bandos pk pvp owned spec special | |
