L'artillerie israélienne a tiré en territoire libanais en réponse à des tirs de roquettes lancés à partir du Liban sur le nord de l'Etat hébreu, notamment sur la ville de Nahariya."Cela pourrait être un immense tournant dans lactivité militaire et politique dIsraël : on sapprochait peut-être dune trêve à Gaza, si un front souvre au nord cest tout autre chose, une autre guerre peut commencer", explique notre envoyé spécial à Erez Lucas Menget.Mais pour lheure, lorigine des tirs reste inconnue. De nombreux groupuscules sont implantés dans les camps.Les bombardements sur Gaza sintensifientLoffens ive israélienne sur Gaza sest intensifiée dans la nuit de mercredi à jeudi. Les avions israéliens ont bombardé au moins 40 objectifs dans la bande de Gaza et plus particulièrement dans la ville frontalière de Rafah où se trouvent des tunnels utilisés pour la contrebande d'armes avec l'Egypte."Cest probablement lune des nuits les plus intenses en termes de bombardements depuis le début de la guerre", rapporte Lucas Menget. Il ajoute que les habitants de Rafah, mercredi peu avant les bombardements, ont été invités par des tracts à fuir la zone.Khan Younès, la plus grande ville du sud du territoire et bastion du Hamas, a également été lourdement visée par les raids.Le cabinet de sécurité israélien réuni mercredi a "approuvé la poursuite des opérations terrestres, y compris une troisième phase qui élargira l'offensive en pénétrant plus avant dans les zones peuplées", selon un responsable qui s'exprime sous couvert d'anonymat.Eclaircie diplomatiqueAlors que loffensive se durcit, les efforts diplomatiques semblent, eux, porter leurs fruits. Suite à la proposition de cessez-le-feu franco-égyptienne, salué par la communauté internationale, deux émissaires israéliens ont été envoyé au Caire pour examiner ce plan.Il prévoit notamment "un cessez-le-feu immédiat pour une période limitée" qui permettrait l'ouverture de couloirs humanitaires et la poursuite des efforts égyptiens en vue d'une trêve permanente, ainsi que des arrangements pour sécuriser les frontières de la bande de Gaza avant leur éventuelle réouverture. Israël exige la fermeture des tunnels qui servent notamment à la contrebande entre la bande de Gaza et lEgypte.Alors que lAutorité palestinienne a accepté le plan franco-égyptien, le Hamas a quant à lui fait part de ses "réserves", jugeant que le plan ne devait pas être considéré comme "à prendre ou à laisser". A la suite de l'initiative égyptienne, Israël a décidé d'interrompre ses bombardements sur Gaza dès mercredi et ce chaque jour pendant trois heures "pour des raisons humanitaires". Le Hamas a également respecté cette trêve, que Lucas Menget qualifie de "grande respiration".Depuis le début du conflit, au moins 702 Palestiniens ont été tués et 3 100 blessés, selon les services d'urgence palestiniens. Côté israélien, quatre personnes ont été tués par les tirs de roquettes sur le sud ; six militaires israéliens ont péri dans l'offensive terrestre et 83 autres blessés, selon Tsahal.
