chapter 24I looked into the mirror. Today was Christmas morning. After that, 6 months for my wedding. 6 months before i become Mrs. Matt Russell. 6 months to change my mind. 6 months to... I sighed. This was getting more and more stressful every day. Matt came into my room, "Hey baby. You almost ready to got to my parent's house?" I nodded, "How do I look?" i twirled around in my red dress. Matt winked, "You look fine to me, Mrs. Russell." I giggled, "Thankyou Mr. Russell." He smiled and took me in his arms. He sighed, "I'm so glad you want to get married. I've always dreamed of you walking down the aisle at our wedding, and now i can't believe it's only 6 months away." I nodded exitedly, "i know! We've been engaged for 6 months today." He looked at me then smiled, "So you did remember." I playfully slapped my hand on his arm, "Of course i would remember. This is really important and special for me." He grinned, "Speaking of special, i bought you this for your graduation, and for our anniversary." He brought out a long box and handed it to me, "Happy Anniversary, babe. and Merry Christmas" He kissed me on the forhead, "hope you like it." I always got excited when someone gave me a present, "Can I open it now?" He laughed, "Go for it." I sat on my bed then motioned him to sit next to me, "I want you to open your present at the same time i open mine." I went into my closet and also brought out a long box, "Happy Anniversary, babe."i giggled, "and Merry Christmas", i kissed him gently, he called it the teasing kiss. "Aw, Lizzie. You didn't have to." i nodded, "I wanted to. Now let's open them at the count of three. One..Two...Matt!" i laughed. He had began to tear the paper on the count of two. I just giggled and waited for him to open his present. He lifted the box, and his mouth dropped open, "No way!" I grinned, i knew he would like it. "Aw babe! This is amazing!" he pulled out his new gold electric guitar. "How'd you get the wood done like this?" I shook my head, "It's not wood. It's pure gold." His eyes popped open, "What?!" i smiled, "You like it?" "Like it? I love it!" He tackled me on the bed and kissed me over and over again, "You..are..the..best !" he said between kisses. I giggled then gasped, "Matt! You're getting my dressed wrinkled!" He got off of me, "Sorry." he laughed, "Man! i can't wait to show it off." I smiled, "That's not all." i went to my drawer and pulled out a black leather guitar strap with gold fire on it. He ran to me and squeezed me, "Oh my gosh. You are amazing." He grabbed the back of my neck and pressed me to him as he gave a kiss. I laughed, "I'm so glad you like it." i hugged him. He lay his head against mine and we cuddled for a few seconds. Then he broke our embrace, "Oh wait! We haven't opened your gift yet!" I jumped up and down. "Oh my goodness! I completely forgot!" we jumped on the bed and together we wripped the Christmas wrapping off the box, "Wait hold on!" i stopped him from shredding the paper, "Is that Santa Clause with an electric guitar on the box?" Matt looked down, "Oh wow! I didn't even notice it." we both laughed and i opened the box. "Oh, Matt!" I pulled out my new silver guitar, along with a black leather strap decorated with silver fire, and one single red rose in the center, "This is beautiful.""Wait till you se the back," he flipped over the guitar, and there were my initials in metalic purple. I looked him up at him and threw my arms around him, "Thankyou so much! I love it, and I love you even more!" He grinned, "I fall in love with you every day, babe." we laughed and tried out our new guitars. I looked into the mirror, then gasped, "Hey, Matt! our guitars are almost the same, ecxept yours is gold and mine is silver." He stood beside me, "Yeah, you're right. I guess we're on the same page." I smiled, "I guess we're really meant for each other." He kissed me gently, "Who else would you spend your life with?" My mind flashed back to a picture of Nick, but now, he seemed faint, unreal, a bad dream. I realized that that's the moment that i let go of Nick. Nick Jonas died in me today, and the love i had for him was now even stronger, and steadier with Matt Russell.
