I wanted to say I was disappointed. I mean he said he'd call me.. didn't he? It was probably his job, I kept forgetting he was famous. But he couldn't have taken one minute out of his busy schedule to call or even text. All said and done, I didn't have much time to even think about Joe. Eva and I had been out and about since the day I got here. One day, she showed me around the estate and which house belonged to which celebrity. The day after, we went to the movies and then swam in her very luxurious pool, and yesterday we went roller skating in an old retro bar. Every day, we would go to the diner in the neighborhood for lunch. Even in these four days, it had become a tradition for us. In every spare moment I got, I would check my phone to see if I had anything from him. On this rare moment I got to myself, I was sat on the couch, waiting for Eva to finish getting ready. I stared at the phone, waiting for him to call. Whenever I thought about him, I got all nervous. But I couldn't bring myself to the thought that I was falling for him. I looked away from my phone, up at the ceiling. Then I got a call. I immediately answered it, not bothering to check the caller ID.'Joe?' I said.'Uh, no. It's me! Alex!' he said.Alex was my big brother and I was proud to say, my best friend also. As there was only a one-year-and-a-half age gap between us. We were pretty close. He had always been there for me, through the good and the bad. He was very protective of me. He had help me fend of the obsessive boys and all the bitchy girls. He had kind of stepped into my father figure, as our father, as much as he tried, didn't really have the first clue about teenagers. He was one himself when both of us were born and when our mother disappeared off the face of the earth when Alex was two and I was only a few months old. Despite all this drama, I wouldn't change a thing. Alex was working as an intern for sports magazine in New York, so it was a bit of a surprise to hear from him. Ever since he got an apartment in the city with his long term girlfriend, Scarlett, I didn't see him as much and that disappointed me. He and Scarlett were highschool sweethearts. He was on the football team, she was a cheerleader. According to the obvious sterotypes, Alex should be an obnoxious jock and Scarlett, a back-stabbing bitch. But they were far from it. Scarlett was another of my best friends. Not having a Mom, I had no-one to talk to about girl stuff, so I confided in Scarlett. She knew all my deepest thoughts and secrets.'OMG ALEX! I miss you soo much!' I almost screamed.'I miss you too Inds. Dad told me you were in L.A.?' he said almost as if he was asking a question.'Yeah. I'm in Toluca Lake.' I said.'You're kidding. I replied and hung up.Just then, I realized Eva was standing infront of me. Her sudden presence made me jump.'Woah. I didn't even notice you come down.' I said.'Was that Joe on the phone?' she said raising her eyebrows.'No. It was my brother. I invited him to lunch. Is that okay?' 'Is he cute?' she said.'Uh.. I don't feel comfortable answering that..' I said, shifting in my seat.'Just answer.''Ughhh.. Well to other people.. I guess he could be.. cute.''Well that's all I need to hear. He is very welcome to join us.' she said with a smile, pulling me off the couch and linking her arm with mine.'He has a girlfriend.' I simply said whilst we walked out of the door.'Damn. I am so not lucky in love.' she said.I looked at her and shook my head. 'Am I underdressed?' I asked, pointing to my ripped jean shorts and simple shirt and then to her floaty floral dress and heels.'No, I am just over-dressed.' she said simply.'Why?' I asked.'Zac Efron lives here.. duh.' she said, no humor in her voice. | Becoming Reality Chp 24: Backstage Part 1Wed, 07 Jan 2009 10:05:33 -0800 by skatingjbfan08so my brother had a snow day today which means he's home :( lol and i went skating this morning and i was the only one there (plus my coach) it was cool lol :)Devon's P.O.V.The next day was pretty relaxed for Sam, Sara, and me. The guys were rehearsing the whole day and since it was the first concert of this tour there was some extra stuff that needed to be done. So while the boys were off doing there thing the three of us hung out backstage and chilled."Can you believe this?" I asked"Yeah I know, my two best friends are dating Jonas Brothers and I'm not," Sara said. I couldn't tell if she was joking or serious."It's ok," I said."Yeah, plus you and Nick are best friends and are super close, like you've known each other your whole lives," Sam added."I know, I was joking, although it would be nice. I have Jesse anyways who is amazing. Which reminds me I should go check and see if I can video chat with him. Do you guys mind?" Sara asked looking at us."Of course not," I said as Sara took her laptop and went and sat against a wall. She started chatting with Jesse and from what I could tell from across the room everything was going great between them."Mind if I go read for a bit?" Sam asked me."No, that's fine," I replied."K, see you in a bit," Sam said as she went to go find a quiet place to read.I took out my iPod and put the volume on max so I could listen to it without putting my headphones in. I put my iPod on a chair and almost instinctively I started choreographing a skating routine to the music. As I was "skating" Joe walked in, they must have had a break from rehearsing."What are you doing?" Joe asked me curiously."Um, skating," I replied only slightly embarrassed, I mean it was only Joe."Wow, your dedicated," he told me."Yeah, skating is pretty much my life, I don't know what I would do if I stopped skating. I guess its kind of like you and your music," I replied."Wow, what's the longest break youve taken?" he asked."Three weeks when I went on my trip to Europe, but usually anything over a week seems like a long time," I responded."So the next two months are going to be tough aren't they," Joe commented."Yeah, but I'm with you in Europe, I'm sure I'll keep myself occupied," I said with a smile."I'm sure, but I will try to set up some time so that you can skate. I wouldn't want you to forget everything you've learned," he said smiling. "You did bring your skates right?""Of course. I brought them on the slight chance I would be able to skate," I said. I hadn't been able to convince myself to leave my skates home for 2 1/2 months, that would've been depressing. "You know your the best, right?""Yeah, I know," Joe said with confidence and I just laughed and gave him a kiss as he was called back to rehearsal and I went back to my music.It was soon time for the concert to start so we went and took our seats. We had decided that we would watch the first concert from the audience and then we would probably watch the rest from backstage. Namra and Amanda soon joined us."Are you guys excited?" I asked, which was probably a stupid question."Totally. We're pumped! This is our first Jonas Brothers concert," Amanda told us."Don't worry, they're always great," Sam replied."How many concerts have you guys been to?" Namra asked us."This is our third," Sara said.The boys did not disappoint. The concert was absolutely amazing. There was never a dull moment, the five of us were up and dancing the whole time. Joe told the story about how he tried to make the guards at Buckingham Palace laugh and the whole audience was laughing. After the show was over we all went backstage. We hung out there for a bit and eventually went back to the hotel.
