A U.S. military jury at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, gave Salim Hamdan a stunningly lenient sentence of five and a half years. (August 7)[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] Osama bin Laden's former driver has been sentenced to 5 and a half years in prison.But he could be back with his family by the end of this year.Salim Hamdan (sah-LEEM' hahm-DAHN') is being given credit for the 5 years and 1 month he's already served at Guantanamo Bay.On Wednesday, a military jury convicted him of aiding terrorism but acquitted him of a conspiracy charge.
